The Aalto University Otaniemi Campus Library is easy to access by car or by bus. In addition, the upper parking area has a parking space reserved for disabled persons.
Many of the bus services in the Otaniemi area are operated by low-floor buses, which are better suited for persons with mobility impairments or those travelling with a pram; you can find more information about the timetables of kneeling buses on the HSL (Helsinki Region Transport) web page. The nearest bus stops are situated right next to the library; the stop for buses coming from Helsinki and Tapiola is only about 10 metres away from the library entrance, while the one for buses from Leppävaara, Espoo, is about 20 metres from the entrance.
The library has three lifts, which provide a stair-free access to all floors. The premises are not ideal for wheelchair users, but fortunately the thresholds at the doorways are not very high. Please note that we do not have a toilet reserved only for disabled persons, but in the ground floor there is a regular toilet that is spacious enough to be accessed with a wheelchair.
The library staff will be happy to answer any questions regarding the services, using the lifts or moving in the building. If needed, you can even contact the staff before your visit to the library.
