Information about the service: Requests from the closed stacks and the archive

1. Archive of the Aalto University Otaniemi Campus Library

The archive of the library consists of archived documents such as academic dissertations and theses.

2. Rights of use

It is possible to use material from the archive in the premises of the library during opening hours. The use must be done in a place assigned by the library personnel. The material can not be loaned out of the library or be supplied by interlibrary loan.

3. Request of material

Material of the archive is located in the closed stacks and the publications have to be requested for use. Each publication has to be requested with a separate order form. Requested materials will be delivered to the customer within four hours of submitting the form. When retrieving the material the customer must identify himself or herself with an official ID (ie. passport, driver's license). The customer can have a maximum of five publications in use at a time.

4. Copying of material

Customers are not permitted to copy fragile publications by themselves. In this case the interlibrary loan service handles the copying taking into consideration the copyright law and statute, and the customer will be charged according to the service price list.

5. Handling material

The publications must be handled delicately and with care. In the case of fragile publications the customer is given a copy for use.

6. Returning material

After use the publications have to be returned to a clerk at the customer service.
