From the TENTTU databases you can find references to publications acquired to the Aalto University School of Science and Technology, theses of the School of Science and Technology and domestic technological magazine articles. The publication and research registers can also be accessed via TENTTU. Along with TEEMU a quest for information can also be started at the TENTTU databases.
All databases can be accessed within the Aalto University area; for outsiders the use of TENTTU is chargeable excluding TKKtutkii (TKK Research Register), TKKjulkaisee (TKK Publications Register), , TKKkirjastot (TKK Libraries) and Tekniikan museon kirjat (Books of the Museum of Technology) databases.
It is possible to search for a single fact or do varied and complex searches in TENTTU-databases, because TENTTU has multifaceted search and printing format options. For each database there is a separate search form in both Finnish and English. In addition there are metasearch forms which allow you to search from more than one database at a time.
In TENTTU you can search all of the data stored in the databases. In the "free text search" field of the search form you can type any word that is relevant in your search or you can focus your search to a specific field (ie. author or publication title). Trunaction can be used in the beginning and in the end of the word alike. Search terms can be combined within a field with operators AND, OR and NOT, and separate fields with AND and OR buttons.
The brief guide has basic guidelines for searching. The database description page contains more information about the database in question and a list of the fields. The description page -links are beside the search forms.
TENTTU databases is the Aalto University Otaniemi Campus Library's own database service, which is also available to organizations through The National Electronic Library FinELib licency arrangements.
