Databases

Databases are electronic retrieval systems which include information about certain resources. Via the library's Nelli portal 185 databases can be accessed. In Nelli the databases can be searched with the Databases function by browsing them by alphabet, by category, or with several conditions.

  • Reference databases are databases which do not have the actual information sources (for example books, journal articles, dissertation etc.) but the reference information describing them. Nowadays, however, in many databases there are links to the full text articles or full text is already included in them.
  • The collection databases i.e. library catalogues of the libraries include information about the collections/resources/publications of different libraries.
  • Via the e-book services it is possible to read the full text books included in the subscribed packages and to do searches in them. The subscription can include all of the package or only a part of it.
  • E-journal services are services of electronic journals where there is a search possibility. There may not necessarily be a right to read all the journals belonging to the package.

Printed abstract and index publications (Ref series collection) can be found in the first floor of the library and they are in alphabetical order according to the publication's name.
