The library's acquisition department acquires books, journals and other continuously coming publications and other information resources to the library.
Library patrons can make suggestions for the material to be acquired to the library either with the acquisition suggestion form or with a form from the circulation customer service. Giving as correct information as possible makes the handling of the suggestion faster. The person who made the acquisition suggestion gets the book on loan first if the book is acquired to the collections.
The library acquires all text books mentioned in the Aalto University Schools of Technology study programme to the Otaniemi Campus Library. One copy of each text book is acquired for reading room use and can be read in the library or be taken home for overnight or weekend loans. There are 2-5 borrowable copies of the text books. Books on order can be seen in the TEEMU collection database and request may be made to them.
Books missing from the collections or changed text books can be reported to the library for example by e-mail: kirjasto-hankinta [at] tkk [dot] fi.

Electronic materials are acquired mainly via National electronic library FinELib but also own acquisitions are being made.
