The Aalto University Library, Otaniemi is the oldest and largest technical library in Finland. Its task is to support and advance techno-scientific research, education and studying. The history of the library begun when the Technical School of Helsinki was founded in 1849. Activity in the library building designed by Alvar Aalto in the Otaniemi campus started in January 1970. Since 2010 the former Helsinki University of Technology Library is one of the units of the Aalto University Library. The other campus libraries of the Aalto University Library are the Arabia Campus Library and the Töölö Campus Library.
There are also libraries in the faculties and departments at the Otaniemi campus.
